How are girls treated in modern Japanese culture?

I am assisting my first grade daughter with her project for girl scouts. They are representing Japan in a community-wide taste of the world exhibit. If you know anything about Japanese girl scouts that would be bonus!!

Japanese are getting lazy? It was found that the classification of work motivation of the Japanese was the second worst among 16 countries. Nikkei Business reported yesterday.

The research was conducted in 2005 by Towers Perrin, a consulting firm's staff and organization.
