Early Japanese

What's the name of that Japanese giant toy robots from the early 80's?
I got one when I was 5-6years old around early 80's. It had a knight style head with horns, yellow torso, Blue legs, black boots, chest missles, and spring loaded fist. Its feet were on wheels. It was all plastic and about 18" tall. ( Note: it was not Optimus Prime and it didn't transform)
I believe I know EXACTLY
what you are talking about...
http://weirdscifi.ratiosemper.com/shogun/
THE SHOGUN WARRIORS !!!!
http://www.plaidstallions.com/mattel/shogun.html
http://wildtoys.com/shogun/index.asp
The ones that you are thinking
of were not so detailed... kinda
big, kinda klunky, very colorful
but not very articulate
AND YES--
THEY HAD PROPELLING FISTS...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogun_Warriors_(toys)
and were
21 to 24 INCHES TALL!!!!
{ DWARFING every other
action figure or doll made }
The line of Shoguns you are
thinking of were called
"Jumbo Machinders"
but there was actually a whole
lineup that included more
detailed and more articulate
smaller figures ... much like
the micronaughts back then...
although they were discontinued
you can still find them in specialty
toy stores..http://www.robot-japan.com/Gallery/Mattel/ShogunWarriors/index.asp
The toys were based on a japanese
anime but were so popular that they
did not even need a tie-in to sell them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J5P2gHerEQ
so- unfortunately-there may have been
some confusion as to where they came from
The anime was "Mazinger Z" brought over
here as "Force Five"... but when Vultron and
Transformers shown up the Shogun Warriors
bowed out ...

Catch my drift? Japanese Street Craze of Drifting
A group of young Japanese joy "Sugoi Yo" (yo, that's cool!) As the Nissan 350Z slides round the corner inclined at 45 degrees, deep in the industrial sector of Yokohama - the third largest city in Japan. As the smoke clean burning tires, the spider web of black marks on the surface of Portland cement, become visible, proof of the popularity of this circuit. Welcome to the world of the drifters, a subculture of Japanese who meet to test their driving skills, show off their souped up hot rods and burn a lot of rubber.
The word 'Drifting' describes a cornering technique in the front wheels of the car point in the opposite direction at a time, resulting in the car sliding round the corner almost at right angles at once - in fact a controlled skid. The practice has been used in various forms of motor racing in situ, such as meeting and principles Grand Prix, but was a young boy running Japanese, Keiichi Tsuchiya who is credited with popularizing drifting. Tsuchiya later went on to win multiple titles motor sports and become a drifting legend despite having his license suspended for the race of his career due to his continued involvement in street racing.
Tsuchiya retired professionals and street racing, but is revered internationally for his drifting skills, and their contribution to drifting was recently distinguished by his cameo performance in the street racing movie "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift".
Today, still drifting very popular among Japanese and the DI Grand Prix is an important fixture in the calendar of motorsport, but is the culture of street drifting that has captured the imagination of many car fans worldwide, and has been popularized largely through drifting videos that have been published online by the drivers and their fans.
The quirky, nice people and the rebellious nature of street drifting has spawned several Japanese manga (comic books) based in practice. Keiichi Tsuchiya is an editorial supervisor of the title "Initial D" which focuses on the world of drift and Touge (pronounced Toe-gay). Touge literally means "pass" and has come to describe a way to compete in Japan, where drivers use narrow, winding mountain roads to test their driving skills against each other.
Street drifting has since spread throughout the world, and is popular in the U.S., UK, Europe and the drifting madness has even reached the Middle East.
